Come for the whole weekend or just for Saturday. Every moment below is optional except the ceremony — please be seated ten minutes early.

Friday

11 June · Welcome
  • Arrivals & check-inSettle in, drop your bags and find your cabin or guesthouse key at the welcome table.
  • Lakeside supperGrilled fish, garden salads and cold drinks on the jetty. Casual clothes and a warm layer.

Saturday

12 June · The wedding
  • Ceremony in the orchardA short, outdoor ceremony on grass. Flat or block heels are kindest to the lawn.
  • Photos & lemonade hourFamily portraits by the water while everyone else enjoys drinks and lawn games.
  • Dinner in the boathouseLong tables, shared plates and a few short speeches — we promise they are short.
  • First dance & partyThe doors open onto the deck and the music runs until midnight.

Sunday

13 June · Farewell
  • Slow breakfastPastries, coffee and leftover cake. Drop in whenever you wake up.
  • Last swim & goodbyesBring a towel if you are brave. Shuttles leave for the station from 12:30.

How we got here

Our story in three tides

We met by capsizing the same dinghy on a beginners' sailing course. Neither of us has been allowed to steer since.

The capsize

A windy spring weekend, one borrowed wetsuit and a shared towel. Julian claims he was helping; Maren remembers otherwise.

The long way round

Two cities, a lot of night trains and a shared notebook of every harbour we wanted to see together.

Asked at dawn on the same lake where the weekend will happen. The answer took less time than the coffee.

Getting to the water

Exact directions and your cabin assignment arrive by email once you RSVP. Here is what to plan for now.

By train

The nearest station is a short ride from the lake. We run free shuttles on Friday afternoon and Sunday midday.

By car

There is free parking on the meadow, a five-minute walk from the boathouse along a gravel path.

Where to sleep

We have reserved the lakeside cabins and two nearby guesthouses. Rooms are held for guests until 1 April 2027.

Dress & details

What to wear, what to know

The day moves from grass to boards to a dance floor. Dress for comfort first, then for the photos.

Attire

Garden formal. Suits without ties are welcome, as are summer dresses and linen. Greens and blues suit the setting; there is no forbidden colour.

Bring a layer for the evening

Little ones

Children are warmly invited to the ceremony and dinner. A supervised play corner with films opens in the cabin lounge from 20:30.

Unplugged ceremony

Our photographer will capture the ceremony, so we ask that phones stay in pockets until we walk back down the aisle. After that, snap away.

Questions guests ask

Still unsure about something? Add a note to your RSVP and we will reply personally.

Can I bring a plus-one?

If your invitation names a guest, they are very welcome. Our numbers are tight in the boathouse, so we are unable to add extra guests beyond those named.

Will there be food for my dietary needs?

Yes. Dinner is shared plates with vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and nut-free options clearly marked. List any allergies in the RSVP form and the kitchen will plan for you.

What happens if it rains?

The ceremony moves into the boathouse, which has room for everyone. The decision is made at noon and shared at the welcome table and by email.

Is the venue accessible?

The boathouse and deck are step-free. The orchard is on level grass with a firm path, and a golf-cart lift runs between parking, cabins and the ceremony.

Do I need to come for the whole weekend?

Not at all. Saturday is the heart of it. Friday supper and Sunday breakfast are relaxed extras for anyone staying nearby.

What time should I arrive on Saturday?

Please be in the orchard by 14:20. Guests arriving by shuttle will be dropped off with time to spare.

Can I change my RSVP later?

Yes — simply submit the form again with your updated reply before 1 April 2027. We will use the most recent answer.

Save us a seat at the table

Please reply for your whole party by 1 April 2027. One form per invitation is perfect.

After you reply, we will email directions, your cabin details and the final timings in early May.
